Finally got it built and it works great, even on 70 cm. Don't have an SWR but seems to work really well. I can hit the Pikes peak repeater on 1/10 the power of the copper J-pole above my roof line
I had made a portable j-pole using 300 ohm twin lead but I like this better in terms of performance.
I was worried about the tape measure solder but it wasn't bad at all. I tinned it first using a small butane soldering torch.
