Default Red Cone 7-6-2013

Red Cone was awesome today. The weather was great (except for the usual icy wind up top). The trail was totally clear of snow and only muddy in spots.

Travis (Shotshell), Nick Andrews and I arrived at the trailhead and aired down.

Then, just as we were about to head up the trail, we had a visitation. A built red 40 came rolling up. It was Dave Brown in Red Fox, come to run Red Cone with us!

I only took a few pics.

The trail was a little busy but not too bad. Lots of nice folks using the trail correctly, and everyone we met was courteous and considerate. The great day was only marred by the traffic on I-70. An hour from Georgetown to Idaho Springs ... on a Saturday no less. Oh well, small price to pay for a day on the trail in the Rockies!
