Have you considered unbolting it and just sliding it right onto the back of a flat bed tow truck? I can't think of any scenario "on blocks" where I would want to be standing near it.
The other option I would consider, would be calling Machinery Express. Ask for Greg and tell him what you are doing. He's a pro rigger, and a great guy. If he's down this way anyway, he could make quick SAFE work of that removal for you.
