It was interesting Wes. I tested the timing Saturday and it was indeed retarded by about 6d. It's really surprising to see just how little movement on the pump changes that too. Something around 3/32" actually is enough alignment change to make a difference. I've yet to run it, so no idea if that was contributing to my altitude smoking, but I suspect it was.
