Well that is really a great thing for you to have on your Taco and the button control is also not so bad. The 100 series Land cruisers have it all the time, so no button.
I had the button in my FJC but not in my 4th gen 4runner.
I think having the button, also offers a bit more highly tuned Atrac for wheeling use. Robbie Antonson, one of our members and a great resource, was on the Trail Teams for Toyota and really knows the whole story on Atrac.
Your spotter will most likely not hear the bending metal sound like you will, it almost has a boing sound to it, that you will hear. Your spotter will see your front or back wheels kind of start/stop on their own as you are moderately accelerating over a feature. They will really be amazed, as most are the first time they see it working and watch the vehicle handle the feature you are overcoming.
Just remember left foot braking will nullify it, if that is your style.
