That's basically correct. Ultimately you end up at Reudi Res and can follow the paved road along the river to Basalt. I've mostly been up there in the winter, so I don't know all the dirt roads, but it seems like we rode KTM's in that area a year or two ago and found tons of dirt roads heading in every direction.

Guanella Pass would be a good alternative, or better yet Georgia Pass or Boreas. Both would be fine for a stock Taco. The north side of GA Pass is a bit steep and loose, but nothing crazy. Does he have decent tires?
