Rising Sun Friends,
Well, first it was off to MN for a 3 year stint, now it is off to CA for me. I am sad to leave CO but am also excited for a new life in CA.
I hope I get a chance to keep in touch with all of you, and I wish I could have made more time to come to more meetings and runs this past year, but the ones I attended were of course very fun thanks to all the great people in the club.
So I am sure I am going to be asked why I would leave such a awesome place as CO...and really it is a long story. Without going into too much detail, lets just say there will only be one person on the rising sun "family" membership next year. Amber (my now ex-wife) will be staying here in CO. I assume she will keep up with the club when she can, as she will still have a '70 Fj-40 (the maroon one with diamond plate and lockers) and the '93 FZJ-80. I hope she will get an occasional hand from some of you when the 40 needs a tune up. I have left it in pretty good shape so she should be good to go, though I know she will need a front end rebuild on the 80 as soon as she can afford it. As for us splitting up, the separation is amicable, we just fizzled out.
Anyway, I am starting a new life in CA, new job etc...and I still have my recently finished 78 FJ-40 to keep me busy. If anyone is ever out west in the orange county area, look me up. And since I will be new to CA if anyone has any suggestions for trails, shops and or people I need to meet also let me know.
I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, and a Happy new year. When I get time, I will update the website (www.toepper.net
) with the latest goings on if anyone is interested (lots of cruiser tech stuff there too) Keep in touch if you can, I am sure our trails will cross again in the near future.
