It would be big bucks, but a 7 rib roast (i.e., a whole rib roast) is usually about 16 lbs, which might do for a hungry group of backcountry dining enthusiasts with some treats for the K9s riding along.

OMG....made it tonight! Couldn't find a bone in so I bought a 6lb Prime rib roast. ($95
) It was to die for! Unbelievable doesn't do it justice! Took just short of 2 hours and literally dissolved on the tongue! Lori's sister and BIL are here still and we all ooooohed and ahhhhed through dinner! $16 a pound and worth every penny! Just came n from the now extinguished campfire and had to report. I don't see bringing that grade of meat with me but I think I might do something similar for the group dinner!
