I have asked. Charcoal is considered an open fire and requires a permit. Rubicon Springs is privately owned so permission from the caretaker is required. No idea if fire ban is on or not at this time. There is a ranger station near Ice House Resort where permits can be obtained. I was considering doing a choice Rib Roast for meat night. Not sure if it's worth the hassle now.
Hmmm, interesting. If it's gonna be a PITA, dragging the dutch oven and the charcoal starter might not be worth the trouble. We were planning on dutch oven meals for meat night, South of Boulder night and probably Italian night.
