Default Pizza cutters for restos (hilux - fj40 - etc.)

A few of you have asked about where I got my tires. They were really hard to locate and it seems that all the Front Range tire stores resist ordering skinny tires for 4x4 vehicles. I don't get it, but I eventually found these at TireRackDotCom.

These DOT radials are old school 7.00-15 and measure roughly 30x6. Perfect for a resto that needs a lugged tread on a 15x5.5 wheel (there's a hiway tread available as well). You don't have to settle for NDT or NDCC jeep tires. I have them aired to 32 lbs. and they ride pretty comfy. Big-O in Louisville inflated them to 50 when they installed them. Geez!

Yokohama's site also lists a LT235/85R16 (32x8) but I can't find it for sale anywhere.

When I ordered in January, TireRack only had 5 in stock. That low level warning is gone from the site and the price went up about $20 but they are available again...

And here's the hiway tread:

If you want to see them in person, come to the northside breakfast on Friday. I think we're at Eggcredible (SoBoRd @ Manhattan) this week.

Pretty cool. The one on the left looks similar to the Dunlap Jeep Service bias plies that came on early models. The one on the right looks similar to images I have seem from Toyota's archives from what was offered on "later" model 40 series in non-USA markets. In any event, I had issues with the bias ply tube-types that came on both my 71 FJ40 and my 78 FJ45 and ended up switching to radials. I see these are Yokohamas. That's cool that they offer these sizes in radials. I ended up switching to BFG 33x10.5 M/Ts for all of my 40 series.

Yokohama's site provides much better info than tirerack does. Should have posted these the first time...

Very cool. I love the tall/skinny tires. It is hard enough to find 33 x 9.50s for my FJ60; I can't imagine how you found those.
