Default Beds, looking for opinions

Looking for opinions. Been through too many high end mattresses over the years.

Looking at the sleep number bed

Some either love it or think they are cheap made in China crap. I met another Toyota owner when we spent the night at Gold Hill and he and his wife were telling us how great it is. Lot of coin.

None here. We just got (arrived last week) one of those memory foam mattresses, and like it a lot, kind of reminds me of sleeping in the camper.. which is a good thing.

anyway was from Overstock.com http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden...41ae361a7039.2 actually $2 shipping on that bugger.

Folks have one (one of the original versions) and really like it. Sister has a newer version and likes it too...

The one thing I don't really care for is the "border area" in the middle but maybe they've improved upon that...One thing I've learned over the years for me is that I (well my back) likes FIRM mattresses. Ended up with the firmest pillow top mattress available from the Denver Mattress Factory (I think that is the name) after the saleman's recommended "comfort mattress" went back

Seems to me that a pillow top air mattress would be the shizzle 'cuz I could pump that baby up to 100

We did. I liked it, wife HATED it. We now have a Tempur-Pedic and we both love it! It did take me a week to like it but I'm sold.

X2...the Tempur-pedic mattress we have is so comfortable. And the wife likes that I don't wake her up when I flop onto the bed.

I tried the sleep number bed years ago when I was selling furniture. I did not care for it and at that time they had a lot of problems with the air pump system.

Wife and I are currently on a Tempur-Pedic. Wife loves it and her back is much happier. It took me a long time to get used to and it is very comfortable. But I would have been just as happy on another Simmoms Beautyrest like we had before for half the price.

Kevin - since you liked both, what do you see as the pros/cons between the two

Thanks everyone for your replies

Are you looking for a King or Queen? The biggest issue we both disliked about our King Size SNB was because of the two different air mattresses the "hump" that usually forms in King size bed down the middle became pronounced early on and got worse. I dealt with it and probably because I'm a bigger person it didn't seem like I was in as "deep of a hole" as my petite wife complained about. I will say that my wife has always been "Princess and the Pea" and is hard to find a bed for. When she fell in love with Tempur-pedic's I really didn't like them but knew I would adapt. I did and now after a year later I can say she was right as the mattress is still like new and we both notice that we usually wake up in the same position as we went to sleep as we just don't toss and turn through the night! They are expensive and a big purchase so If you know of someone nearby that has one try to "borrow" a nap on one! We have some good friends who had the same issues with the SNB although it was he who could never get comfortable.

We looked at them and they are really comfortable (in the store, no night experience...). However when I did the research I found numerous unhappy customers, poor customer support, pump and mold problems... we elected not to get it.
