Default Ouray Aug 16 thru 22, 2009

We just got back from a week in Ouray, it was our first trip to the area and it was fantastic! We have a bunch of pictures and I will post some up in the next couple of days.

One of the days we got up at sunrise to run Poughkeepsie Gulch, here is a video of Jo (my ) driving up 'the wall'. No one to hold the camera so it is a strange angle....

She did most of the driving this trip and I think it is going to be hard to get the keys from her on future runs!

Very

I ran into some folks one day in a Jeep at the top there where Poughkeepsie Gulch meets up with Hurricane Pass or Corkscrew (can't remember which one)...

The guy had this look on his face and was asking me which way was the quickest and easiest way down to the highway and back to Ouray...Discovered that he was in a rental Jeep, got lost, and had just come up Poughkeepsie Gulch...His and kids were not amused with him and wanted to go home....

No idea, it was a ways up from the switchbacks and on a part of the trail that I don't know how you would roll a vehicle unless you were going about 50mph

great shots

thanks for sharing. I just did Engineer Pass a month back and could have spent another month down that way just exploring.

Good looking berries-they seem late this year from all the moisture.
