Oh no, that would be wrong. The whiskey was purely for parts cleaning.

I sent Old40Dog a PM this morning, I have a diff if he needs it and I think we should get him a track bar fabbed up and in place before the next run.
Anti-wrap and an lunch box locker (heck, rebuilding the third...Detroit or ARB!) would go a long way for not a ton of money.

he has a spare diff already. But yes he needs an anti-wrap bar and a locker.

i'm really glad everyone was in a pretty good mood last night, that made things easier. And I just happened to be the closest to the breakage and had some of the necessary things available to fix it, and I just tried to help where I could like everybody else. I just want to thank everyone - Robbie, Uncle Ben, Treeroot, DaveinDenver, my dad, TIMZTOY, Steve Brady, Gary, the patient ladies , nakman for offering to come back up and help if we needed, and others that I don't really know, everyone was awesome! I wouldn't say it was fun, but it wasn't as bad as it could've been...

I want to echo everyone's remakes. Thank you Tim for organizing the event and thanks to everyone that crawled under the 40. It is the good people of Rising Sun that make me sleep better having an open 80. I think I would have been the second rig to breakdown if I had to climb another rutted, snow covered hill last night.

PS Ige I was thinking about Nitrous in the 80

Well Matt, you beat us home by 1 minute! It was 3:54 AM when we walked in the door.

Special thanks to all that helped out, especially, Matt, his dad, Robbie, Uncle Ben, Treeroot, DaveinDenver,TIMZTOY, Steve Brady and Gary was a real trooper following us back to Evergreen.

Looks like I'll be driving the Taco for a while. As it will be several weeks until I have any time to get into this project, but I do have a 3rd member that should be in good shape that I can pop in. The wrap bar was on the list and now its moved up to the top. I'll PM Mendocino about his parts.

Think I'll also do rear discs while I'm at it too, so if anyone has any spare parts to sell for that project, I'm interested.

Again.....THANKS GUYS! As Nakman states in his signature....Rising Sun Rocks!

Nakman, thanks for taking the lead on putting this event together, Rick and I enjoyed the Spooky Night run very much. Everyone that attended, pitched in did a great job. Robbie, thanks for heading up early and getting the fire going. Mat M., thanks for the spot going through the rocks on the way up and Marco C. thanks for the spot going through the rocks coming down.

We were in the lower group that turned around an headed back into town. The crew that stayed behind and got Dave off the mountain really is incredible. It was late, dark, cold and way less than optimum wrenching conditions. You folks did a great job.

Now that I have had a couple of cups of coffee I am thinking clearly about what took place last night.

We had a on trail cookout that included sushi, turkey legs as well as a cook off between a couple of Kevin's. Saw many friends and met a few new ones.

I witnessed a on trail surgery of a pumpkin on a fellow members rig under adverse conditions.

Lastly, I have seen posts this morning encouraging tech knowledge, parts and enthusiasm to get the wounded truck fixed and back on the trail.

I have heard about the midnight trail fixes/recoverys before, but until you are actualy part of one you don't realize how much knowledge, experience and unsellfishness there is in this group.

Way to go Rising Sun

Thanks tim for orginizing the run.
I got home about 3:20 coundnt see but 5 feet infront ofthe truck through the mountains. Almost 10 miles of that crap. I had fun last night fixing the broken rig. I hate to say this but I look foward to the next break. Because it brings ppl togther better than just chit chatting. But no break is a good break.
Old40dog if you need help installing the track bar hit me up!

Yeah, it's trade off, until you drop a diff on your foot I guess.

Rising Sun ROCKS!!!

No matter what, you can always count on at least one member to help you out. A family indeed Sounds like all had a good time and came home safe.
