Question Toilet options for CM2010

Many people purchased portable camp toilets for the 2008 Rubithon trip. I think I will buy one for CM2010.

Which ones did you buy, where did you get it, and how did you like it?

Uncle Nakdude asked me to offer you the 5 gallon bucket seat/lid I won at a meeting raffle last year.

I have the Pett system. It has served it purpose very well for camping and hunting. The tent makes an excellent shower enclosure too! Check ebay and Craigslist as some are bought and never used and resold. Serch - porta potty, portable toilet, etc...

I have the PETT system as well. I think in the vendors section of Mud you will see a link for trdparts4U which is Toyota of Dallas. They seemed to have a good price going.

Thats the same system that you used on the Rubicon. I think you know it well after that week

We have a Luggable Loo, which is basically a 5 gallon bucket with a toilet seat. It's cheap (actually cheaper than building a groover from an old 20mm ammo can) but also simple and does the job. It's not something you'd substitute for a real chemical toilet or outhouse, but also takes up less space. We use standard WAG bags available from various places, PETT, etc. The toilet and enough bags for a couple of weeks all fit inside the bucket. We don't have a privy, but borrowed Uncle Ben's for Rubithon. Normally we'll just carry the toilet out of sight, but then again we're usually not in a big group setting. For CM or the like you probably want a privacy tent.

I must have missed that meeting. We had that in the meeting raffle, really?

I have had 2.

I took my old system to the Rubicon.

The coleman tank system. Just like this. But clean up is a bit messy. Wife did not like so much.

PETT is probably the best known but spendy at 75-100.00 price tag.

I found this at Walmart for 25.00, very similar to the PETT. No splash back.

folds flat. IH8MUD sticker fits great on lid!

Sho nuff! Ricardo rules. And seriously, mine is unused...no bags nor bucket, just the seat/lid...yours if that's the style you want. I'll put it in the truck so it will end up at Stevinson on Wednesday.

Me too. Kim and I use the same system. Works fine, compact, no mess, no stink. A box (12) of the bags costs about 20-30 bucks and the luggable loo lid and 5 gallon bucket holds all the gear. The used/full bags can go into the trash.

For sho

I purchased mine back before CM07 and it has served us well - I really bought it for the s to use at pit stops on the trails. I purchased it from the vendor that I think was a supporter of the club or something back then. Not cheap but versatile and having the shelter is nice for privacy, just don't leave your lattern on in there with you at night

But, why buy one for CM10? Aren't we going to have decent toilets to use
