Default Tire Question

Hi guys,

I currently have 33x9.50x15 tires and they are in need of replacement. They have been great for daily driving, should I go to 33x11.50 or even 12.50x15 for better 4 wheeling or stick with the 9.50 size. Or are the wider tires even going to give me any advantage at all. I have an OME 2.5" lift so clearance should be OK. Thanks!

Do you have power steering? If not, the skinny tire is the better option. If you have power steering, the wider tores will give you better traction and a less tippy ride on off camber stuff.

Yes, I do have power steering. How about backspacing, the rims I have now are steel with a 5.5 inch backspace.

are you sure 5.5" With factory non power steering 3.5" or less back space is required. So your 5.5" seems off in my mind. Anyway more importantly how wide is the rim. For a 33x12.5 an 8" rim would be ideal. In a 33" I'd probably go 10.5" in width personally. 12.5" in a 35" tire.
