I'm betting that you have 430.000 set as the first memory location. This is not the #1 in a bank or whatever, but the actual #1 (e.g. 001) location. That is the default priority memory location if you have not selected a bank. So in VFO or Memory mode and NOT using a bank the radio's '001' location is the one banged every 5 seconds. The quickest change to just make memory '001' something more meaningful.

Let us know how it goes. Otherwise you bought a really fancy scanner with a useless mic. We'll get you talking on repeaters!

Hey Bruce, since you have an FT7800 and so do I, care to export your programming, then I can just lift it from you and import it?

What a great reference! I just got my ticket a few months back, and will be driving down to Cruise Moab from Seattle. Hope to meet some of you guys there. Now I can add "programming my 8800" to the list of things to do before leaving.

I don't have a cable or software to export the setup. The excel file is the best I have at the moment.
