Would it matter if I changed out my back shocks to Fox or Evans shocks (that will be the next question) keeping my Toytec coilovers with the 5100 shocks in the front the same? I just would really not have to change the whole setup if possible.

I'm not a big fan of bilsteins.

IMO, a high dollar shock is not worthwhile until you are running the truck hard enough to feel the shocks fade. With most of the wheeling here, I haven't experienced that. If you get there, pony up for a good bypass shock.

Poly Performance has a pretty good shock for a reasonable price, might look into that.

If the front is fine, then leave it. You can run very different shocks between the front and rear, as they are very different systems with different weight loads.

But for the rear, I wouldn't run the billy's again.

Thank you very much! I might pony up the cash for some Fox's because Allpro is where I got the spring from.

Why did they bust in the first place? Over extension? May happen again on any shock.

Kinda looks like you over compressed or extended by the looks of the blown out upper mount. Do you have the right length shocks? Limiting straps and bump stops? I can't see how you would need more than a 5100 unless you were driving 100mph through Baja. Go ahead and buy remote reservoir shocks if you must, but get the right length for your lift, and enough shaft travel for your wheel travel.

Well I finally got the rig back it's new back end trimmings, I'd list them but it's easier to say it's the Slee and Icon Products in my signature. I'll get some better pic's (flexing)when I get more time...maybe this weekend....This will most likely be the last time you see these Items this clean on my rig.

If the shock is acting as a bump stop, this will happen again. Oleg came up with some bump stops that worked well for us when we were on the trail teams.
If I remember right, it was front bump stops for a FJ60. You may want to look into this before it happens again.
