Default New toy for the Outlaws trip.

so...I got an ARB fridge for the 60. It's way cool. (hee, hee...pun intended).

For those of you who have one, how accurate is the therm on yours. I find that it reads about 5-10 degrees colder on the LED than my little mechcanical one shows when sitting at the bottom.

I cranked it to its coldest (0 degrees F) when it read 0 or -2 on the Panel...the one inside read 10. (still freakin' cold!) as it warms up...like in the fridge temps...it'll read 32 on the LED, but read close to 38- 40 inside.

Does that sound about normal?

I have an older Engel, no fancy read-out or anything of that. I spent $1.98 at Target. The Engel is about 40F at 1.5 on the dial. Gotta keep them full to make the temp even inside, so we put bottles of water inside to take up unused space.

Mine consistently reads colder on the panel than it is inside - not sure about the exact variance. I usually run mine at 31 or 33* on the temp gauge, and that keeps the beer mighty cold but nothing ever freezes.
And obviously that rear 1/2 compartment is going to be a bit warmer than the deep, front compartments, so I use that for butter, yogurt, fruit and stuff like that.
