Use it for cutting anything other than sheet steel, the CNC plasma takes care of that.

I'm almost done reassembling the CNC mill in my new shop. Then I'm going to turn out a hydraulic roller lifter cam for the 2F and concentrate on getting the 40 back together.

Now that would be way cool if you could make it work and keep it cost effective too. Wasn't the issue always that there was no source of pressurized oil to the lifter galleys to keep hydraulic lifters pumped up?

No, that's the easy part. I'm replacing the lower portion of the galley plate with a manifold. You just drill into the block above the oil filter to source the line.

The hard part for me was you need to make a cam blank from scratch and the distributor gear had me stumped, but I just got a new program that allowed me to generate the tool path to cut that helical gear. It does 8 passes with a very small endmill as a 4 axis job.
