If you haven't noticed, KTM loves to make bikes that are "between" sizes.

So you think the riding style on the 400 would be similar to a 250 or 300 then... and you'd class 450 and 525 more together? One being more rev it up & hit it, the latter being bottom end & lug on through..

I've ridden the 300 2 stroke, and the 450 and 525's, but never the 400. So it's all theoretical for me, and I'm not really fanatical enough to pick up on all the subtleties. Like Cruisers, it's fun to debate them though....

This article provides some good detail on the "seat of the pants" differences.

good find. we're a year away from an upgrade, going to wait until the 50 is completely dialed before upgrading. Would like to see if I can get Gavin to take Justine's for a spin before camping season ends.. hey are you guys around the weekend of September 29th? want to meet up at the swing?

And as long as you're searching, find me a EXC 525.

Pricey 525 in Arvada

http://denver.craigslist.org/mcy/3212446165.html

Good price on a 2004 525 in Broomfield. No mileage/hours listed.

And a one owner 450 at a good price.
