Default Wednesday Wheeling 2/20/13

We had a great bit of wheeling today on Slaughterhouse Gulch. Stan (Fishy) and Bill (Big Country) and I enjoyed a beautiful morning out in the woods where we belong. What a great break from the daily grind! Thanks for the impetus Stan.

There wasn't much snow on the trail. Except for that icy downhill section that made for some excitement! The weather was partly sunny with no wind to speak of. We did not see a single other vehicle on the trail. I got a few pics. I know Stan got some pics as well.

Here are mine:

We should all go wheeling more often. It's fun and it puts a big ol' grin on your face!

Had a blast today! The back hill is dug out enough to make it interesting and keep it fun. The rest of the trail had enough snow and ice to keep your attention. It's been a few weeks since I've been out, so this was much needed! I didn't get too many pics. I took one at the top of the icey hill, then it was a "10 and 2" operation down to the bottom! Everything else was just spotty for snow, but that hill puckered me up good. There is no question ATRAC makes me less of a driver. Once I realized I could just let it do its job and stay off the brake, it walked it's own way down in LO/LO.

Dan was the first one down, at about 20 feet in we watched his brake lights flicker on and off real quick, then watched him start sliding sideways out of sight. We waited for a thud and the tops of the trees to shake as he bounced off one or two. He called us from the bottom to say he made it, but it was dicey! Nicely done Dan!

On we went. For me, the best part of that trail is bombing down the last stretch before you get back to the air down lot.

We got some good video of ATRAC working, so I made a short movie.

Sorry I missed this one. I'm all over Wednesday wheeling, especially in the summer when the kid isn't in school. Glad you guys got out there.
