A nice station for sale on CL. This is a good price on probably currently the best mobile all-mode, HF thru UHF rig. It's about $400 lower than new, although still a couple of $100 more than a FT-857. I might be interested the power supply, although I don't really need it for other than a backup.

Icom IC-7000 - $900 (Idaho Springs, CO)
Purchased 8/31/2011. Rarely used,like new.

I found this on the yahoo FT857 forum. Not craigslist but may be worth keeping an eye on it. Interesting the radio originally came from an owner in Denver.

pretty decent setup here, with the 2 antennas. One looks like a mag mount, the other a full length Diamond maybe? http://denver.craigslist.org/ele/3744065473.html

Did anyone here pawn their FT-60?

http://denver.craigslist.org/eld/3745821400.html

The display says 'FERN 1', which might mean Ferndale. I put together a couple of radio memories with the repeaters between here and the Rubicon, called the ones in Ferndale, CA, 'FERN 1' and 'FERN 2'. Just curious.

FERN is the Fire and Emergency Response Network I believe.

That makes more sense, I have the FERN channels in my radios, so I seem to be wrong remembering those. Is there even a Ferndale, CA?

Just looked at my VX7, it has the alphanumerics of (FERN) as 154.280, (FERN2) as 154.265, (FERN3) as 154.295. Those are obviously not amateur frequencies, but public service.

I have not yet sold my ft60, but all the public safety freqs are in it so I can monitor inter agency traffic when on assignment with boulder county sheriff. FERN is a group of coordinated freqs for fire dept interop comms for mutual aid.

Anyhoo…my ft60 is available for $99 obo. Includes AA pack, factory duck antenna and pdf manual (paper manual if I can find it). It will go on CL eventually. It works great but we went to D-Star at the sheriff's office so it should go to a new home so I can afford the gps bits for my new IC92AD.
