What I bring is largely determined by two factors:

1. How far from home I will be if poop hits the fan.

2. What I suspect/know to be an issue.

If I go to Moab, I may bring a whole 3rd member, axle shafts, and a complete assortment of fluids. However, if I am going to be an hour from home, I will bring a basic tool kit and recovery gear and any spare replacement where I might suspect being a weak link.

Just another .02

Every year, it takes me 30 minutes to find this old list.

Friendly reminder from your local poison center (my day job): For those of you who wheel with kids (especially kids between 1 and 7 years old), please make sure there is no way they can get access to the brake fluid or the antifreeze. There are very few substances on earth more likely to kill a child than those two things. Remember those caps are child resistant, not child proof.

Also, if you are working with stuff like carb cleaner, please, please, please, wear safety glasses.

If you have any questions, call me at 1-800-222-1222.

Truer words...I was cleaning the carb on my dirtbike in high school and I peered with one eye down into the carb as I shot a spray of this stuff and (as it is obvious to probably everyone) it hit the bottom and shot right back into my eye! Some super intense pain and very frantic running around the garage from that one. I also was scared I was going to be blind! Now I wear safety glasses even when turning wrenches!

Brake fluid has a warm unpleasant flavor.
