Thinking about going part way Tuesday night, in hopes of beating the snow.

I'm thinking the same thing. Might crash at Rabbit Valley or along the Colorado on 128. I'm hoping to be rolling by 4pm.

Snow? Are we talking California snow or Colorado snow?

http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick....52&lon=-106.2

Wednesday - A 50 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 31.

I was just checking this thread to see who's travel plans might be close to mine. I see:

Scott
Mike
Perry
Brent
Timm

and maybe Dan from Georgia. Most years I hit the El Rancho interchange on I-70 somewhere around 10:30 to 11:00 AM. I'd like to move that up if possible and have time to stop in Hugh's shop in Grand Junction on the way. But it is nice to get in to camp around beer thirty , and not be too late.

What color is your rig Timm? Mike, are you trailering your 40, driving your 62, or what? Perry is your runner still beige or have you painted it yet again? Brent I assume your 80 is white, right? Dan I see in the registration database that you have a Lexus GX470. What color is it?

Jeff;

Thinking of hitting the road early like leaving by 5am. Just doing the f350 and the lance. Tires on both the 40 and 62 don't hold air.

We plan to hit the road about 9:30am from Conifer in the red 80 (with a hitch rack, no less). With a 6 year old and a 1 year old we tend to drive fast and take frequent breaks. Might not work out great as caravan companions. Most likely we'll see you and pass you several times!

And I might pass you several times, going downhill - with the 5 speed the 60 goes fast on the level or downhill. Up the passes, like most cruisers of her vintage, not so much. Maybe 45 MPH redlined in 3rd gear. I'll be on channel 4 on the CB. My HAM will be in my sandwich
