Default Part timed my 80

Did the conversion over the weekend using the marks adapters spool and a set of fj60 Aisin hubs. All in all not terribly difficult but I should have pulled the Tcase. My neck would be thanking me now.

The worse part was getting the tail housing back in place without the counter shaft bearing preload shim falling out of place. Took about 5 tries until I resorted to axle grease to glue it in place.

Drove to work up in aurora and then down the castle rock for t-ball practice and I have to say, the cruiser feels more responsive. It also felt smoother which tells me my front drive shaft angles are not quite agreeable for the CV shaft.

Not sure if I gained any economy. I will calc it the next time I fill up.

Thanks for sharing the story - you hear about part time 80 series conversions, but you rarely see a writeup such as yours.
