Default 80 series flip windows

Might be chat, might not. If you haven't seen Kevin's flip windows for the 60, you are in for a treat. If you have, then good news for you 80 owners. Imagine accessing your fridge without having to move that spare tire contraption out of the way.

Dang....sure hope he makes one for a 100 soon. I could see leaving the power vent on one side, and putting a flip window on the other.

they are cool, but i can jsut go through the sliding window to get to my fridge

does the latch release have to located there? that would be gone rather quickly on a wheeling rig

You have lost your marker lights multiple times due to smashing them? That was certainly true on 40's back when GSMTR was held at Tellico, but it's been a long time since I've seen a smashed one. Maybe Rubicon...

You are correct, the 60 series windows came first, because there was an obvious need for them. The 100's were the second request, so I'm not sure why the 80's got into proto before them. Meh...I think they make tons of sense on a 40 (not with jump seats or factory bar) 60 and a 100. I don't think the sliders windows were easy to open on my 450, and with one of them being fixed, access was limited. Now...compare them to Wes' 70 and you realize the 80 sliders are tiny.

Nice. I saw a rig that TrekOverland had set up with flip up windows. It had two keyed locks at the bottom of the windows.

Pretty cool, but it wouldn't do me any good with my ARB fridge with the hinges at the back.

I think there is a thread on Mud in the 100 series section. I think he said he would look into it and needed a donor vehicle.

Seems like the 100 would be easy to make it swing to the side. Just make a quick release on the motor side and modify the hinge side to swing wider. Probably need to keep an air strut to control the swing.

Here's the tech of this: Does anyone have a rattle coming from their 100 windows? I noticed some play in the plastic motor arms. Easier to replace or need to sleeve the pivot?
