Default 2 Year Old Oil?

I looked up the last time I hanged the oil on the Pig - 2 years ago (almost to the day)

In those two years, I have driven Pig ~700 miles.

Oil still good? Or timed out?

Thanks for your perspective.

Change it out. It has contaminants in it from the combustion process that break it down.

Great minds think alike Matt.
I went ahead and did it.
I guess the lesson to be learned is that I should finish up the Pig and drive her!

That's the reason engine oil recommendations give a milage or time expiration, 5,000 miles or 6 months sort of thing. Long term you can change the oil and not run the engine at all, like you're told to do when you prep a vehicle for specifically for storage. Ideally you'd change the fluids at the storage unit, so total running time on the fresh lube would be zero to maybe a couple of minutes.

The plans are to drive Pig, not store her, but my execution has taken longer than expected.
All of the sudden I realized it had been two years since I changed oil!

Oil & filter = cheaper than 3FE engine rebuild...

Yeah, I probably wouldn't have changed the oil either. Listen to the lazy south side guys, relax, drink a beer. Needless anxiety will kill ya, man.

Anxiety, LOL, that's why I'd have just change it and be done. A couple of Jacksons for peace of mind that my oil isn't full of condensation waiting to make foamy soup.
