Stay safe my Colorado counterparts. We had 8" of rain within three hours a few years ago and I remember that well. It was so amazing even in relatively flat lands. I got zero work done that day. Is this deluge having any effect on the Glenwood Canyon area ?

I just made my way through Boulder and it's nasty and still pouring rain. S Boulder Road, Baseline and Arapahoe are all flooded and closed around Foothills. Abandoned cars all over the place. Rivers and lakes flowing where it's normally just fields and ditches. I watched a taxi get tugged out after getting washed out under a railroad bridge. He started the car and proceeded to drive off with big white puffs of smoke coming from the exhaust. Definitely took in some water....

Wow. I spent two hours driving around looking for flooding to photo with Dmitry in Commerce City, Stapleton and Aurora. Sand Creek clearly had been huge but was receded. Not much else. Hardly rained the whole time. No rain in North Denver now.

I drove from Denver up to Boulder this morning to check on my job site. Arapahoe and Foothills was within 18" of hitting the bridge and rising. Boulder creek was sounding alarms for flash flood....and my 100 yr retention pond had maybe 2" in it. LOL. Thank you city of boulder for requiring that I expand that next year, even though it didn't hit a tenth of it's capacity today. Drive home after noon was more sketchy. 93 was overrun in a few places, though it was drivable in an exploder easy enough. I could see where bridge damage was going to happen in a few spots....gonna be a long night.
