I'm in!

Wire snake through the passenger side vent to unlock the driver's door did the trick.

I looked all around the inside hoping I'd left the key in there but still no key. Next step will be to pull the passenger lock cylinder and have a new key cut at Toyota.

I will then find my old key when I get home from that errand thanks to Mr. Murphy and his law.

keep in mind, some early 70s models used two different keys. what year? you said you have vent windows, so 74 and earlier unless the doors have been changed, is the ignition on the column or the dash. if it's on the column, your ignition will take a different key than the doors.
