I've raised the spare mount 5" and it still drags on rocks on modest trails. I'm afraid of damaging the sidewall to the point of rendering the tire ineffective when needed.

Maybe I was just really lucky but I left my 295 under the truck for years without issue. It was a nice pillow to fall on coming off a ledge

Saw an 80 a few years back where they had mounted a swing out to the stock bumper. It looked pretty OEM but we were also side by side going 65
