I could definitely go with longer shackles, but the ones I have are nice aftermarket yellow zinc finished and are a nice small length. I don't like going too long on the shackles. That's a decent price, about double what U pull places want, but worth the reduction in brain damage. Most of the places that came up on a junkyard part search wanted $195 each! I'm going to Denver Spring tomorrow to see if they can add a new leaf for me. I added the 4Runner main leaf (with eyes cut off) into the pack and it only added 1.25", so I need something a little beefier.

The overall height didn't change. The truck still sets, for all intents and purposes, level. Now that I've got my shocks put back on it rides very nice in the back. I can definitely notice a difference. I'm seriously considering putting some Bilsteins in the rear now. I think I'm gonna go with the 5100's. But for some reason, I can't find exact extended and collapsed length specs on them. I guess I'll keep looking.

But yeah, it was an interesting experience. Wish you could have been there. But I know some "do's" and "don't's" about it now.
I'm interested to see how it turns out on your truck, Squishy.
Are you thinking of reusing your factory bottom plates? Or going with a U-bolt flip and a top plate?

Billy Specs:

I did the 7100's with the 360/80 valving on my rig (60) but it's really heavy and I like to jump it.

I got a set of 5125's for $165. I got to custom pick the length. So we'll see how those work.

Nice! I have a set of left over flip plates so I'm gonna flip em. I think I'm going to rebuild my rear axle and install my e-locker at the same time. If it's already out I might as well. Just more $$$ I guess.

I got my 5125's installed this afternoon. Looking pretty spiffy.
