Matt, I picked up some 5/16-18 square nuts that are the same size as those bolt heads. I also snagged bolts, washers, and lock washers- the nuts are zinc but everything else is 18-8 stainless

You going to make the rally? I can bring some down... wait, I thought you sold your 100 to buy another bike?

Well dad gum.. my square nuts are just a little bit too wide to fit into the extrusion. I could grind them, but I need this to be as bolt & go as possible, as I'm working on a new product solution here and "grind down nuts" isn't going to make the final BOM.


I did find that a 5/16-18 bolt, which uses a 1/2" wrench, will slide right in and grab pretty well, and it should hold just fine but I am going to hold out for more surface area and get some square ones. I'm going back to Fastenal tomorrow to see if they can special order some.

Mcguckins has them in boulder, so do most ace hardware a but the selection isn't as good.
