Default How do I see when My license becomes active?

I went to the following web site

http://wireless.fcc.gov/uls/index.htm?job=home

It wasn't obvious to me how to search

So I registered and was given a FRN #

When it becomes active will it automatically show up in my profile since I took the test and applied with my social security number?

They said it should be active by the end of next week after the test.

You just select the license search then pick "by name" instead of by callsign http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/UlsS...rchLicense.jsp

It might, I don't know for sure. I got my FRN a day or 2 before my Lic came in the mail. I all ready had 1 FRN from my GMRS Lic and the #'s were different.

Search by last name and Zip Code, seemed to work best for me.

Ken,

It wasn't until Wednesday evening that I received mine. I was the last test group before the code disappeared. I have been told that since the code disappeared that it is taking a bit longer. My dad said in the olden days early 60s that it could take up to 3 months so we are fortunate.

Heck, I got mine right away and it took me 9 weeks to actually get up enough guts to transmit. And even then I cheated. It was my dad calling me on his way to my house to come visit from Wyoming.

On another freaky note. Last night I was listening on 2m on a local repeater and I picked up some guys talking on a repeater in the Bozeman and Big Timber area of Montana. From SW Idaho that is a long stretch.

Default Licensing and the time it takes to get your callsign and upgrade

Being a volunteer instructor with the ARRL, I understand that there are two primary methods being used to submit licensing info to the FCC from the VEC's. There are those who still use all paper and snail mail. Then there are those in larger clubs(typically) who have electronic access and can upload info overnight.

Both of my own exam sessions were with VE's from larger clubs and I received my technician class license within approximately 4 days after the exam, and my general upgrade was 3 days after the exam. A note is that both exams were on Sundays. I got my tech on thursday, and my general upgrade(2 years later) on a wednesday.
