Is there one of those pads that removes decals from the painted surfaces?

yeah - heat then goo off works best. NOT goo gone.. that stuff sux. just use a blow dryer. a heat gun is too hot, unless you don't care about the paint underneath. If you burn it, it will actually take longer to remove. (motorcycle decal removal 101)

I use cup type (both straight and knotted) and disk type (both straight and knotted), and also love those scotchbright wheels too. They each have their purpose, depending on the job. If you have air, the smaller ones work great on an air powered die grinder.
