Default Transfer case help

Hello all,

I'm new to your group, I live in Steamboat Springs, my name is James.

I'm needing some help on a rebuild on my 87' FJ 60 Transfer Case. I can't find any shop that is wanting to do a rebuild. So does any obe live in the area that would be wanting to meet up with me to help me do an OVH on my TC. I do have actcess to a heated work bay at my work.

Thanks keep on cruisin.

I just rebuilt the splitcase on my '88 FJ62 and while it seems daunting, it really isn't too terribly difficult at all. You do need some tools that aren't in the average toolbox and a press is mighty handy too, but there are workarounds. If the truck is your DD and you need it really quickly then having someone do it for you makes sense. Otherwise, an FSM and some patience, OEM parts from a local vendor and a little guidance from some of the gurus here and you just may be able to do it yourself. Then again, I'm a risk taker.
Cheers, good luck and welcome.
