Default Who needs 4x4 when you have one of these

THis machine is wild. The problem is it works to well, I bet it put atleast 10-20 people out of work. Not to mention how fast it can move through a forest.

This would be great for the pine beetle invested areas.

This type of machine was used in the Hayman burn area by Denver Water contractors. It's pretty impressive in operation.

Wow! Seeing those branches get plucked off while it indexes the tree over for the next cut is amazing.. doesn't even phase it. Tom if you get one of these bring it over some time, ok?

From the comments with listed with the video (man there are some moronic people leaving stuff on Utube) it sounds like the tree machine shown is the small version - limited to 12" trunks but there are larger ones used for commercial logging. What I wanted to see in the vid was a close up of the branch stripping mechanism, and the saw blade too.

We have a few of those that spend the summers up here in Summit County. I think that there are going to be plenty more of them in summers to come. Dang pine beetles.
