Default Mini Truck Pickup Box Interchangeability

Terry asked me if a '89-'95 pickup box would fit on an earlier generation truck. I told him tentatively yes I know I've seen it, but that I'd never done it before. Here's some Yotatech photos of both a 1st and 2nd gen 4WD truck with a later box. I thought that '84-'88 and '89-'95 boxes were directly interchangeable and all the bolts lined up, but don't know if that's true of '79-'83, too.
