Default electric locker help

factory 80 rear locker. correct me if i'm wrong, but with the shift collar locking bolt unhooked (so collar that slides on splines and shaft from actuator are not hooked together), when the switch is activated/deactivated, i should see the shaft move back and forth, correct?

The diff won't lock unless the center diff is locked either via the CDL button in high or the Tcase in Lo. You should see the orange light on the left side of your dash lights
