Default Hot ARB Bulbar Indicator lights

I just replaced my ARB Bulbar indicator light housings with shiny new ones thanks to Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters. I do not want them to suffer the same fate as the old ones - death by overheating. Any suggestions for a cooler bulb? My concern with LED is that they will not shine forward since the light is in sideways. Is there a lower wattage 1156 size incandescent?

Use a #67 bulb. And while you're at it check out this mod. Takes about 1/2 hour to do, and I think it's pretty cool. http://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-te...o-mod-vid.html

Ditto...a year and a half and no melted lenses here

P.S. when I read the thread title I thought maybe someone might have stolen your lenses...

I like this guy's mod: http://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-te...ignal-mod.html

I have these and like them: http://autolumination.com/1156_1157.htm

This is the 67 style: http://autolumination.com/otherleds.htm

1157 vs 67 but you can see if my 1157s are bright enough for you.

Any problems with the turn signal flashers using LED's? I've seen with the Tacomas that the LED's draw so little current that the flasher thinks the bulb is out.

Thanks guys! I will go find a #67 bulb for short term and look at the flasher mod later - I like it.

CustomTacos should have the info we need but their search is not working at the moment.

Here is the schematic if you wanted it. This mod does not work on the 95 FZJ80 flashers
