Question FJ40 cargo Matt / Install question

Hi Al,

I'm hoping somone is oline now who can provide some guidance on installing a cargo matt in my FJ.

It seems I have the choice to either install the matt under the rear deck heater element or cut the matt so that the heater element is sitting on the metal deck.

Do I risk having the ruber matt melt from the heat? Do those get hot enough to do that? The rubber matt is pretty thick. See pis below....

My thought would be to cut the mat so that you can remove it easily when necessary.
