Default I need a new tire store. Who do you suggest?

After nearly 35 years of buying tires from them, Discount may have run me off. I just need to buy a set of 35" MTR's and have them mounted on a set of perfectly good 17" wheels, and they won't do it. Where do you suggest I go on the south and west-ish end of town?

Why won't they do this?

You must be going to the wrong DT.....the one in the Ranch mounted 35's on a 16 inch rim no problems.

They are complaining about the width. It's a 17x7.5, and they want an 8. This is the same store that mounted my 16.5" Rockers on 9" wheels last fall.

For no questions low cost mounting, try a Walmart maybe, I've had some good luck in the past.

The feds must be coming down on the big tire guys, nobody wants to mount anything if it should have TPMS, they all check the tire dates, they all follow best recommended practice only....

...but somebody is mounting stupid narrow tires on wide rims for the 'stanced' crowd so we should be able to find some solutions for our mostly sane needs.

I'm sure a used tire shop will do it.

I ended up getting my tires at 4wheelparts, for the same reason. I wanted 30 x 10.50's mounted on stock 40 rims, and the minimum width in the book said 7" so Discount wouldn't touch it. Something must have happened to them, and down came a new corporate mandate.

Anyway short answer, 4WP would do it.

In the Springs, some Discount Tire shops are a lot ouchier than others about tire warranty and mounting issues. I now only go to one store that is less uptight.

I love this 3rd generation tire store:
http://www.bandftirecompany.com/

when discount and Big O wouldn't mount my not-large tires on my fj40 rims,
I took them to B and F. I'm going to try to support business like this as much as I can. I get nothing from doing business with discount anymore. nothing.
