Anyone still interested in putting together an outing to view the Total Solar Eclipse?

I'm going to be in Wyoming on August 21. Open to other locations than the one I listed above in the previous post.

I've been considering at trip to view the eclipse, not sure what else to roll into it as well. I'd be down a group or just steal your suggestions!

We're definitely going to go view it. Not sure where along the route we'll be though. Probably somewhere in Oregon or Idaho.

Hmmm. That's a Monday. I might be able to swing it. What time does the eclipse hit WY?

Looks like Lake McConaughy in NE is in the path. That might be the quickest trip to find darkness.

It looks like the area around Lander is in the path where you will be able to see the total eclipse in full. I am thinking about going up to the area to camp on Sunday night and see the eclipse on Monday.

I've contacted a couple of local guys to Lander about suggestions where we could camp. If I can swing it, I will bring the whole family. If not, it will be Charlie and me.

My Dad mentioned that if you have a welding helmet or goggles, that works great as eye protection for viewing the eclipse.

Another note: I stayed at the Best Western in Lusk, Wyo. in 2009 on the way up to BHCC. Lusk is on the eastern side of Wyoming and is also in the path of the eclipse. The Best Western was quite nice and I have always thought that I wanted to get back to the town for a weekend, so I called them to see if I could get a room for Sunday night.
Queen bed: $799
King bed: $809

Camping it is!
