Default Sun 6/11/17: Middle St Vrain Road

As this trail isn't open yet, I'll put it on the shelf for another weekend later this summer. Update to come!

---
Looking to hit the trail early in the AM and give Middle St Vrain Road a shot. The plan is to drive out to Buchanan Pass Trailhead and do some exploring on foot. Depending on time of day, snow, and how we're feeling, we're considering either a short hike to Green Reservoir or some other viewpoints in the area with lunch somewhere nearby.
Planning to exit via Coney Flats Rd and Beaver Reservoir Rd. Route map can be found here. This trail is new to me- always happy to explore new stuff!

If anyone is interested, post up and we can meet somewhere north of Denver, possibly Winot Coffee(?) in Niwot. Hoping to keep this somewhat small. If there's no interest, we'll just hit the trail without a meetup location.

I'm a solid maybe but is MSV open yet? It's usually open around July. I know they (govt) canceled out camping reservations at Camp Dick (where MSV starts) over memorial day due to flooding in the campground. Probably worth a check.

I really like the MSV trail a lot and it's very close for me.
Your plan is good and doable if the trails are already open.

It appears that Camp Dick is open and fully booked for this weekend (per Recreation.gov) which looks promising. I'm not sure of the trail condition beyond that.

Edit: Ah, thanks 60wag. I see that it's still closed. Maybe another weekend!

It's a different area, but Slaughterhouse is basically always open if you're just trying to get out and wheel close to town.
