Default Kingston Peak

Did we as a club ever adopt it?

These are the only references I could find using Google. Based on the search results, it isn't searching meeting minutes.

Kingston Peak FR353 ( ) - Adopted out of Clear Creek Ranger District by North American XJ Association. NORAC to adopt Boulder Ranger District side.

http://www.risingsun4x4club.org/foru...d.php?p=301001
Kingston Peak is a relatively new addition to the club, adopted in 2016. NORAC (Nissan club) has adopted the Boulder Ranger District side of the trail and we have the Clear Creek Ranger District side. Our main area of initial focus is the long meadow area where the trail has widened with multiple bypasses due to the original trail being almost impassable for even medium built vehicles. There is a perception in the FS that significant engineering and road-building equipment will be required but the club is considering a more conventional club approach that could get most of the trail passable again. Once the original path has been restored the bypasses could start to be closed and re-vegetated. The Kingston Peak gate closes on November 1. It is generally accessed from Nederland by taking Mammoth Gulch. Kingston then drops you back into Alice, so you could also run it “backwards.” There are also connections to Yankee Hill and Apex depending on which turns you take.

Greg reviewed for those in attendance what Adopt-a-Trail is and the existing trails that we have adopted, Argentine Pass and Jenny Creek. He announced that we have adopted a third trail, Kingston Peak. Greg said he would like to have one Land Use Coordinator, with three other people to each be in charge of one of each of the three trails.

Marco described Jenny Creek to the group. We have already accomplished most of the big projects on that trail, so this year’s scope will primarily be just trash cleanup. He said that Kingston Peak trail is divided into two sections, and we are going to do the Clear Creek Ranger District side, and NORAC will handle the Boulder Ranger District side.

Scott Makes (Smakee) talked about Kingston Peak trail, which we have adopted this year. We have a bunch of work dealing with spurs up above St. Mary's Glacier. It will probably take a couple of years to deal with all of this. Look for opportunities this summer.

RS is scedualed to do Argentine. BRD and NORAK still think RS is partnering with them on Kingston. Thus the reason I was asking if RS thinks we are part of the cleanup. Seems to be a bit nebulous.
