Default Exotic Bodies by Jim - reviews?

Yes it's an automotive repair shop! I'm considering having Jim's shop do a major restoration on my 1976 FJ40 - rust repair, new body panels, paint...the whole shmear. Before I make that investment, however, I need to know a bit more about his work.

If you have had any work done at that shop, or know someone who has, please let me know. Post back or PM me. I'll keep it confidential. Thanks.

I'd also ask the owner for several names of folks he's done work for (that you can call), and check with the BBB (for what that's worth). Sounds like an expensive job you're having done.

You could also have him piece out the work - tell him do do all the bodywork and put it in primer, before committing to have him do the rest of the job. If you're unhappy, you've put less on the table up front.

Default worked on my 60

he did the "nip and tuck" and a minor repair to the rear quarters of my 60. I'm happy with the body work he did. the paint work was OK, but to be fair, I emphasized the quality of metal work and de-emphasized the paint. I basically told him it was a nice looking trail rig.

I think I posted the work I had done. I'll find some pics anyway. he was easy to work with and listened to what I wanted done and did it. Crash was there to help explain things and give an example with Bart.
