Default Father's Day in South Park

Hey Alex and Dan, thanks again for nominating me your leader for the day. For the record what we ran was Horshoe Gulch, actually we turned around just before Horseshoe Gulch, when the drifts became too much. I did get a picture of Alex busting the first set of them though. Also it would appear that all my pictures are from that first overlook below Horseshoe Mountain.

From there we went down past horsetooth campground, then proceeded to drive around Sheep Mountain, over both Brown's Pass through Sheep Park then Breakneck Pass.

3 trucks, 5 kids, 2 dogs... a couple little puckers on the trail but nothing too serious, just good times which is just what Father's Day is meant to be. thanks again for coming out.

Perfect Father's Day! Well, except for the 2 1/2 hour drive to get home to Conifer from Fairplay! Thanks for showing us around your other neighborhood Tim. The trails were beautiful and the company was great!

We only got a few pictures, too. And of course they were all from the same spot. I know I saw Hannah taking some pictures so maybe Alex will come through with more variety.

Meanwhile here is what I have:

Everybody had a good time including Taz, the new puppy. However, our permagrins were cut short last night when Cooper decided to "try to do the splits" and broke his foot. Now he gets to wear a boot for 4 weeks or so.

Oh well, it's all part of the adventure of being a father!

Yeah, I guess there was a bad wreck just past Jefferson that happened just as we were leaving Fairplay. We spent about 45 minutes literally standing still on the highway. By the time we got to the scene there was no sign of it.

Thanks for leading, Tim! Really cool area and I want to go back and hike up to the Horseshoe Mountain. Now I know how to get there, just waiting on the snow to melt.

1. The snow drift that sent us up another trail
2. Dan punching through the first snow drift
3. Horseshoe Mountain
4. Trucks with Mt Sherman
5. Sheep Mountain
6. Tim leading through a wonderful valley after lunch
