Default 8274 Wiring

Wondering if anyone could snap a pic of their wiring setup, behind the plastic cover. Or maybe just mark up my picture, and point out what goes where? Just want to make sure I'm on the right track, before I let the smoke out of this thing... here is what we have now:

Just to clarify, in this diagram they show the positive side of the remote going into the first solenoid, the other side going to power the second layer solenoid. So in this wiring there would only be two common grounds (#5 on the upper right). Then #6 and #7 are interconnections that complete the circuit such that two solenoid coils are in series.

It looks like I just need to jumper all of the + terminals of the 4 solenoids together.. that is what I am gathering so far. so the top right terminals and bottom left terminals (which would be top right if the truck was upside down) all just get jumpered together?

So I hooked up some power, bumped the controller, and sparks shot out... I am thinking I need to hook up all the grounds on the solenoids then, as currently they are all not connected to anything.

It actually seems like from the photo is is wired per the image you posted. Did you apply 12v to the long cable and ground the thing before clicking the controller or change things up?

Well I jumpered a couple of the solenoid grounds together, then I got a couple little clicks then nothing- no clicks, no sparks, and definitely no motor movement. I likely took a step backwards here... this is what it looks like currently?

I think my next move is make 2 more jumper wires, so all 4 solenoids are all connected- connecting 2 criss cross style didn't do it.

You were a couple of wires away from utopia in your first photo. Have you changed any of the existing wires from that first photo?

Looks like your new green and blue wires are supposed to be jumping the return/negative sides of the coils. Connect them to ground/battery negative and it should work. All 4 are negative, one continuous jumper, 4 individual wires, whatever will work.

Personally I'd make them all blue so there's no confusion with white/black/green from the remote, which will all be positive/switched/hot.

the controller takes +12v and supplies it to the appropriate coils which I'd assume at first were supposed to be grounded internally. I'd put it back like it was and maybe ground the posts on the coils that weren't hooked up before. It looked like it was basically there before.
