It was indeed a great day! We had 7 40's on the trail, ranging from Dan's 1967 with a 3 on the tree to Ken's "modern" 1979 square-bezeled beauty. In between we had a '68, '74, '76 and two '78's. The weather was perfect - with a brisk wind at times - and the 40's all delivered the goods. No breakdowns and no vapor lock - just a great day on the trail.

We ran Mammoth Gulch up to Kingston Peak, and took Kingston up and over to Alice. We also did the out and back to Loch Lomond, where apparently everyone who wasn't at the mall yesterday was hanging out and/or camping. A few folks made the return trip over Yankee Hill to finish out the day.

Thanks for coming out and putting your 40's back in their element.

I'll add that the Subaru Forester picture that Mike included was abandoned on the trail. He actually got pretty far along - about a mile or so from the Overlook and James Peak trailhead.

Good times with old iron.

Good seeing everybody out there. Glad I pulled up on my KTM rather than crashing the party in my 60. Lots of Cruisers at Kingston Peak area this weekend....Had to be 20+ (I was the lone 60 though)

Could be a first! Land Cruisers 7 - Subarus 0.

Thanks for picking up the lead on this tradition, Matt. We missed you Martin!
