Hilarious but it looks like the group with Matt and Roots group and myself and my family were all at Castle Gardens. We may have seen Matts group drive by our camp. We were just north of the road right by the petroglyphs.

We also did back routes going home and had to rally some dirt. Really glad I got my truck fixed as we saw many vehicles with flat tires.

We had John and Mike's 80s and were just North of you. We waved at the folks in your camp but I didn't recognize anyone when we drove by. Here is a picture of your camp from where we were camped. I think Daniel's group was up on BLM1414.

Great minds think alike. We had two spots by Castle Garden scoped out but Dave Kaiser told us Friday that both were occupied so we went to site three about 10 miles away. We had it all to ourselves. We had a ridge to view the 360 dusk. From my scouting trips I knew it had room to spread out. It had cactus-free ground, and rocks for a wind break. The rocks also provided hours of climbing enjoyment for the kids. By Sunday night there were three other vehicles off in the distance.

It all worked out great - both the folks who made the entire round-trip convoy as well as those who met at camp - either solo or in small groups. Something for everyone. Now I also know about those reservoirs as spots I want to camp at. I did not take any eclipse photos but I'll have some from my sister to share and these - Matt, Root - are amazing.

But NOTHING can describe my relationship with the universe altering as the awesome power of the sun was shaded by the awesome power of the moon. Temperature dropped 15-10 degrees, stars became visible, the corona became visible, people aligned.

2024 - Southwest Texas or mainland Mexico ......

I got some great shots of the eclipse through our trees at home that were really cool. The trees acted just like pin holes and turned out really cool.

This was a reflection off the kitchen fawcett that reflected on to the ceiling of our kitchen which was really nice. As soon as the eclipse ended it was gone.
