Dan, i was thinking maybe one of the willy's bodies on top of a Cruiser drive-train with a Buick engine.... wait... uh....

i already have one of those :p

to tell you the truth, i'm really not sure, but i think its a great concept and one that i certainly could consider for a future project. I'm just really curious if others are doing this, surely they sell some of these bodies! i'd love to see some build threads.

Since we are just bsing here....

as much as i love my mutant willys/yota min-wheeler it can be just a bit tough to live with as it is soooooo small, you just have no room for gear/stuff or anybody over 5'10 and 165 pounds. most of my friends don't fit into it!

I could modify the flatfender, but i don't really want to, it kind of is what it is and it work really well. if i modified it to make it larger or more livable, it would just end up becoming something that would have been better off being something else in the first place if that makes sense.

i think the FJ40 is a really good body size, its still small, but a lot bigger than a CJ3!

a dream build would probably be based around the #4060 1968-1978 FJ40 Body - Stretched 10" aluminum body, built as low and lightweight as practical on spidertrax axles and powered with some variant of the LS motor, i'm a MASSIVE fan of having three pedals so i'd have to figure out how to make a T56 to an atlas....

to think that you could build something like that from scratch and then get plates on it is very very very cool. I could never justify building a vehicle that i couldn't drive on the street.

Jeff was essentially building that. http://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/aqua...roject.664366/
I think it went to Redline in the end.

That's great news for Icon for sure. It means they no longer have to buy an early 40 just for the title and one part.

my buddy recently built an ariel atom-inspired race car from scratch and got it titled legally in Denver. I do not think he had to pass emissions, but I will double check. It also may be different for an open-air vehicle like his.
